The importance of living a clean and hygienic life cannot be denied as it defines one’s persona.
Our surroundings and home play a vital role in molding our conduct in the areas we step into.
A home is a place where all love to spend time with their dear ones. Each one has their own favorite place or corner that they like to be in.
On an average a person spends 7-8 hours sleeping on bed snuggled in a linen blanket.
Many homes have welcomed linen waffle blanket and organic cotton blanket because of its superior quality and goodness. But one cannot be ignorant in keeping it clean. We tend to use a linen blanket, cable-knit blanket often, but along with its use, its proper care is very important.Washing a linen blanket on gentle cycle in cold water is a way to keep it clean.
Many a times we retire to bed without showering. The whole day’s dirt and dust which is absorbed by the body gets in touch with the blankets and sheets which are left unwashed for many days. One fails to realize the amount of bacteria that would have got settled on the bed covers and on the organic cotton blanket resulting in skin infections.
Every night we are in danger of sleeping with invisible microbes. We hear many people being allergic to dust. Dust is everywhere and the bed sheets take most of it . Hence it is very essential to wash and dry the linen blanket or the cable-knit blanket that one uses on regular basis. One can use mild detergent and wash the blankets on delicate cycle rinsing it twice so as to make sure the soap particles don’t stay.
A survey conducted by the American Laundry Habits stated that only 7% of men washed their sheets every 6 months and over 10% of men couldn’t remember the last time they did it. In the same research it was found that 17% of men and 7% of women never washed their linen blanket used by guests.
